Miele Callisto vacuum cleaner S5 series- One of the best choices for the kind of heavy work that this particular category requires. Miele Callisto comes equipped with a 1200 Watt vortex motor that generates some very powerful suction. Ok we get it, the suction is good but how is this good for allergies? The Miele vacuum cleaner bags in which the dust collects have a 9 layer H.E.P.A filtration system that traps dust up to 99%, and it is also equipped with an active H.E.P.A exhaust filter that filters the remaining air leaving the vacuum cleaner. In spite of being one of the top choice the S5 series of Miele vacuum cleaners is being retired, so if you do know some vacuum cleaner guy who would still have a new Miele Callisto just grab it if you can spare $929.00 at a short notice.

Well this is an ideal situation where you would have to loose some of those beloved Jeffersons and get your self something good that works properly for some time and in that time keeps your house clean and your family healthy. For this particular condition I would suggest the following models.

Simplicity Gusto canister vacuum cleaner- A very flashy machine priced at $1529 comes equipped with a dirt sensor that is supposed to show you the dust in the carpet with the help of a neon light, but trust me it works. I had attended the conference a few years ago where Simplicity vacuum cleaner company had launched this particular model and they demonstrated this function along with other features and the dust is clearly visible. The more interesting this to note is that the test was performed in comparison to a Dyson vacuum cleaner. But still if you are ok with spending that kind of money you can do more research on Miele models of the same range but with a longer motor warranty.

Miele Home care S8- One of the recent additions to the Miele canister vacuum cleaners that actually promises a lot. With a sturdy design and an array of features this Miele is priced at $923.65 and comes with a SEB 228 powerbrush. This particular model along with a few others will only be sold at retail outlets and not internet or amazon.

Miele S2121 Olympus- Priced at $299.00 Miele S2121 Olympus is the connecting link between the higher and lower Miele vacuum cleaner models. At almost 3/4th the price of higher models Miele S2121 Olympus vacuum cleaner still has the same 1200 Watt Vortex motor and comes with the same standard vacuum cleaner accessories as the higher models. The difference though would be a smaller body and the attachments have to be stored outside the canister while parking the vacuum cleaner. The cord is only 14 feet long.

Hoover windtunnel canister vacuum cleaner with Motorized roller- Priced at roughly $143.45 this vacuum cleaner is a pretty good bargain for the money in comparison to the vacuum cleaner models mentioned above. This vacuum cleaner comes with all the standard vacuum cleaner accessories and is a pretty good bang for the buck.

Miele Capri C1- Why do I keep referring to Miele? because I have the highest customer satisfaction rate among Miele customers and Capri is one of the models that I had sold to a couple of customers who had their minds made up for other brands and I had to show a little persistence to sell them a Miele. But the remarkable thing was that they came back and thanked me for my recommendation. Capri vacuum cleaner comes with suction power tool STB 205, a floor brush and the standard vacuum cleaner accessories. Not bad at $319.99.

Kenmore Progressive Canister Vacuum- I hate to admit it but this one of the very few good vacuum cleaners that you can buy from a big store Comes with a motorized carpet tool and standard accessories, the Kenmore canister can pack a punch in this category. There might be a few models in this category that might interest you. Price between $124-$350 for the mediocre models, but some of the higher models can do a good job in the second category too.

Miele Olympus- Priced at $377.95 Olympus is the starting model of Miele canister vacuum cleaners. It is equipped with a combination floor tool that you can switch from floor to carpet whenever you need to. But I am gonna be honest- the floor setting of the tool does a great job but it is not so great on the rugs as there is no turbo brush or beater bar that can beat the dust out of the carpet. If you do have considerable amount of carpet in the house then I suggest, spend a $100 extra and get a Miele capri.

Royal Lexon S18 Canister Vacuum Cleaner- Cost- $248.51 , works on the same concept as an Olympus such as a combination brush but does have a weaker motor than Miele.
